I have a copy of questionnaire sent to candidates in in Ward 1. Ward 1 is the only ward witha contested race. Ward 1 is all of Elmwood south of Main Street.

2011 Election Calendar State of Illinois

I will post candidates as I find out they have announced. I will include a statement of candidacy for each candidate if they will submit it to the site. Later in the cycle I will send each candidate a questionnaire and publish the answers returned by the candidates. One elected from each ward on April 5th.

City of Elmwood Elections

The City of Elmwood has three wards and elects two representatives from each ward to four year terms. Every two years one representative from each ward is elected. In 2011 there will be elections for representatives in these three wards. Ward 3 is the City of Elmwood north and east of Magnolia and Main Streets, Ward 2 is the City of Elmwood north and west of Magnolia and Main Streets, Ward 1 is the City of Elmwood south of Main Street.

 

 

City Election Update

I was incorrect in petition filing date. The State Board of Elections Manual is confusing at times. We are a city under 5000 population so rules vary from other municipal categories. Dotie says, and I would go with her as the authority on the matter that petitions to run for city council should be filed Dec. 13th - 20th at City Hall.
